Cass Transportation (CFIS, CFIE, CTLI)

WHAT IS IT?

Cass indices are based on the entirety of the Cass client base invoice payments. They are primarily volume driven indices that have baseline years as reference points. There are 3 separate monthly indices measuring shipments (CFIS), expenditures (CFIE), and truckload linehaul (CTLI).

Anyone who wants to get a high level view of the freight market

WHAT DOES IT TELL ME?

The Cass indices will give you a good view of what is happening in the overall freight market as well as the general economy. With increased shipments/expenditures comes increased freight movements, and generally more trucking activity and revenue flow. Cass has been a solid indicator of the transportation industry highs and lows.
