WHAT DOES IT TELL ME?

Energy production is one of the drivers of freight activity in the economy, as considerable amounts of raw materials are moved by truck or rail to drilling or mining sites, and energy output such as oil or coal is then transported throughout the domestic economy or exported. Energy production has surged in the U.S. economy over the last decade, led by advances in shale oil drilling.
